West Coast Pups:

Our AZ pup is growing up with host family who are a retired couple living in Sun Lakes, a suburb of Phoeniz, and full of both “sun” and “lakes”.  They’ve got 5 children and 9 grandchildren now.  Notably their achievements include the start-up of 2 very successful pet therapy programs operating as 501(c)(3) organizations.  They’ve owned three Labs previously, live a very active life, and they’ve hiked the Grand Canyon almost 10 times. 

"Zonie" is from the litter of "Bayou Belle" and "Bayou Buck" at the Prize My Eyes Kennels in St. Martinsville, Louisiana.  These parents have both National Field Champions and National Amatuer Field Champions in their pedigrees.

  

Our TX host family lives just outside downtown Austin, TX.  They love to go to Lady Bird Lake (actually a reservoir on the Colorado River in downtown Austin) a few times a week, and can't wait to begin bringing their Texas pup along for her exercise and training.  And they were so exciting about getting her that they actually drove to NW Alabama to personally pick her up!

"Luna" too has a National Field Champion in her pedigree also and "Jerica" her mom is currently certified in Wilderness SAR.  Her dad "Mikey" has the distinction of being a great Grandson of FC AFC CFC CAFC "Barracuda Blue" MH, who's still the highest titled chocolate Labrador Retriever in history.  

Our MT host family is an Air Force couple currently serving our country at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT.   Jeremy is currently serving as a Firefighter for the Air Force, and Karrie is serving as a "Missileer."   To learn about what the job of a "Missileer" is like, click this link which is a TV segment done by Al Roker of the "Today Show".

Our NY host family is headed by a New York City Firefighter who is currently serving with the FDNY’s elite Rescue 1 Unit located in mid-town Manhattan.  With 3 children ages 8 to 12 and a 2 year old black Lab named “Indy”, they reside in the NY suburb of Middletown, NY.

Rescue 1 is the oldest rescue company in the United States.  These highly trained men are generally regarded as the equivalent of the Green Berets or Navy Seals of the Fire Department

With "Hudson we're primarily focused on his potential as an SAR dog,.  He comes from an extraordinary sire at Deep Run Farm in VA with just that kind of successful breeding background.

Our VA pup is being hosted by the Friedman family of McLean, VA.  They now have the distinction of being the first DenimCross family to host their 2nd pup!! 

“Seamus” has come to us as a 4 month old pup from a truly extraordinary family in Franklin, Connecticut.  After seeing first-hand what a magnificent dog he is and his potential for acceptance into the ATF program we immediately accepted him into our “Class of 2010”

He's made remarkable progress in a very short period of time with his new family, and certainly seems destined for service with ATF.

 *   “Trooper” footnote: 

"Trooper" was originally in our "Class of 2009".  His grandfather was the 2003 National Field Champion, "Five Star General Patton".  Due to some unforeseen circumstances in “Trooper’s” training, and just as they do with college athletes who need a little more time to grow, learn, and mature, we have decided to “redshirt” him and allow him to join the “Class of 2010” to gain some further experience as he continues to prepare for his own service to the country.
